Why keep my computer clean?
An unkempt and dirty work area is not a good thing around computers. In addition, food and drink can get into the keyboard or mouse, dust can collect on the system boards and power supplies, and fingerprints on the screen make it just plain hard to read. In general, it is a good idea to keep your area relatively clean and if something should happen, be sure to take care of it.
In addition to a clean working environment you should cleanup your system hard drive as the hard drive gets littered with file fragments and debris you can’t see. Unwanted files from daily usage and Internet surfing can build up over time, slowing down your system’s performance. Deleting junk and obsolete files will free up extra disk space for other uses and keep your system well tuned. In general, freeing up valuable space on your hard drive will enhance system performance and speed up hard drive searching operations.
